Acumatica Summit 2026: The Shift From System of Record to a Five-Pillar System of Intelligence

We attended the Acumatica Summit conference in Seattle during January 2026. We took detailed notes. What follows is available only to Enterprise Software Express subscribers.

Acumatica held its annual customer and partner conference January 25-28 in its home state for the first time. Turnout seemed solid despite a major east coast snowstorm that potentially kept some attendees home.

We pulled out key moments and strategic announcements and added our own analysis of what these moves might mean for the mid-market ERP landscape.

What you’re reading below is our commentary. Acumatica has not reviewed or approved any of it.

Acumatica Summit 2026 Key Themes

Acumatica reported 3,000 attendees at Summit 2026 in Seattle. The mix included customers, partners, and ISVs. Summit 2027 will return to Seattle.

Acumatica announced a new partner-only conference during the event. The first edition runs August 17-20, 2026 in Denver. It targets VARs, service partners, ISVs, OEMs, and alliance partners with advanced training content.

Moving From A System of Record to A System of Intelligence

Acumatica’s 2026 theme: shifting from system of record to system of intelligence. The company is building toward a future where AI could run Acumatica autonomously with human oversight.

Acumatica’s three stages of System of Intelligence ( aka AI ):

  1. Assist – happening now
  2. Collaborate – happening “short term”
  3. Autonomy – happening “long term”

CEO John Case’s Day One Company Keynote

“Acumatica is the digital replica of your business—a system of intelligence, a single source of truth.”

  • The future of performance is here now – driven by people, powered by technology, and made real through partnership.
  • Under the banner “turning insight into impact,” Acumatica is positioned as the digital replica and system of intelligence for your business – delivering one version of the truth, embedded AI that works for you, and role-based tools across industry editions.
  • It’s not about technology alone; it’s about impact – together.

CPO Ali Jani / Jon Pollock Day Two Product Keynote

“Intelligence requires integrity… if we’re building the system that fuels our AI, it has to be grounded on truth and not noise.”

The keynote opened with Ali Jani the outgoing Chief Product Officer (CPO). He began the address but promptly handed over control to the new CPO, Jon Pollock. Earlier, Acumatica’s public relations had informed us of Ali Jani’s retirement, though it remained ambiguous whether he was truly retiring or moving on to a different, undisclosed venture.

Keynote’s Core Message: From Past to Intelligent Future

  • Foundational Belief: While technology is essential, human effort is the ultimate power source.

The Path to Transformation

  • Prerequisite: Businesses must create a “digital backbone.”
    • This is a single, adaptable platform.
    • It unifies people, processes, and data.
  • The “Single Pane of Glass”: Establishes a single source of truth.

The Evolution of Business Systems

  • From Reactive to Proactive:
    • “System of Record”: Merely manages the past. (Reactive)
    • “System of Intelligence”: Engineers the future. (Proactive)

Outcome: “From Automation to Awesomeness”

  • Goal: To foster greater competitiveness and resilience.
  • Method: Equipping every employee with AI-driven insights for improved outcomes.

The Five Pillars of Product Strategy Acumatica’s “north star” for development is guided by five principles designed to deliver this new system of intelligence:

  1. Future-Proofed: Architected for decades.
  2. Adaptability: To involve everyone and integrate with everything.
  3. Industry-Specific: Deep functionality that speaks your language.
  4. User Experience: A personalized system you love to use.
  5. AI First: Pragmatic AI built into the foundation to solve real problems.

Key Innovations: Intelligence in Action (Some available now, more coming soon)

Acumatica demonstrated a “system of intelligence” at work through several key new features:

  • Acumatica Assistant: Positioned as a “new digital coworker,” this tool enhances software accessibility by helping users complete tasks, create new records, and answer questions.
  • AI Studio: This powerful tool allows users to embed and configure intelligence into their own workflows, transforming “automation into awesomeness.”
  • AI-Powered Service: Significant time savings were showcased as AI summarized complex case histories in seconds. This also includes the Refine Reply feature, which converts a casual internal note into a professional customer email.
  • Industry-Specific AI: The AI Cross-sell Assistant empowers newer employees to “sell like seasoned experts” by analyzing sales history to recommend relevant items.

Followup Q&A Sessions With Executives

Acumatica hosted roughly 30 analysts, reporters, and influencers in 30-minute Q&A sessions with leadership. What follows are the key items discussed. We’ve cut repetitive questions and topics outside our coverage focus.

CEO John Case’s briefing focused on moving Acumatica past the hype of AI and into practical, embedded application. On the business side, the company reported record growth and its lowest churn to date, which they attribute to the consumption-based model holding up better in a volatile economy than traditional per-user pricing.

For those in the field, the big takeaway is the “Embedded AI” strategy: rather than selling separate AI modules, they are building tools like anomaly detection and automated lookups directly into existing screens to improve workflow speed.

Case was candid about the fact that AI success depends entirely on data hygiene and process discipline – areas where they expect consultants to lead. He also acknowledged the gap between rapid software releases and actual customer mid-market adoption, announcing a new partner-specific training event later this year to help partners close that loop.

Conversations With Customers

We spoke with several customers Acumatica arranged for us to meet. These conversations were positive, as you’d expect from company-selected references. That said, we noticed some consistent patterns across the group.

  • Worked alongside their partners on enhancing their Acumatica solution either through advanced features such as queries or third-party integrations.
  • Upgraded at a pace of about once a year which matched nicely with what seemed to be Acumatica’s expectation. Some customers even stated they would like to increase the pace of upgrade to twice yearly.
  • If there is one sore spot that seems to arise during these conversations it is reporting and that Acumatica could do better with their standard offering

Other Observations

Acumatica is pilot testing APEX, a direct-sales program that breaks from their traditional 100% channel model. Acumatica sells the licenses directly and provides the consulting themselves. The target is a narrow segment: smaller companies that can use Acumatica out-of-the-box without customizations or enhancements.

Current pricing examples include Construction editions starting under $1,500 per month and Manufacturing editions starting under $2,185 per month. The packages emphasize a standardized implementation approach, with customers expected to rely heavily on built-in help resources and internal support rather than extensive hands-on training.

The professional services team supporting APEX may be connected to Acumatica’s acquisition of VAR Klear Systems, which was announced at Summit 2025. From a market perspective, this appears to be a contained experiment rather than a major revenue initiative. Similar direct or simplified sales programs have been tested by many ERP vendors, including those that otherwise rely primarily on partner-led sales models.

Background information

Acumatica, a company owned by the private equity firm Vista Equity Partners, provides a unified business solution available via public or private cloud deployment. The product includes specialized editions for key sectors such as construction, distribution, manufacturing, retail, and professional services.

The solution is sold almost exclusively through a global network of Value Added Resellers (VARs) – as the company does not maintain a direct sales team.

Acumatica claims a customer base exceeding 10,000. However, the company has not updated this metric since 2023, stating that future updates will only occur at “unspecified milestones.”

Acumatica’s history includes providing white-labeled software, though the full extent of these partnerships is not publicly known. A notable example is MYOB Advanced in New Zealand, which was rebranded as MYOB Acumatica in July 2024, but the precise user count is not disclosed. Similar white-label arrangements, such as the one with Cegid in France, also exist, but their current scope is unconfirmed. The absence of discussion about these white-labeled versions at the Acumatica Summit suggests a current priority on established Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) partners rather than a strategy of aggressive expansion.

Acumatica Customer Base Growth (2008-2026)

Acumatica previously disclosed its customer installed base at the annual Acumatica Summit, with the last public update being at the 2023 conference. The company subsequently announced a shift in its reporting policy, stating that future customer count updates would only be released upon achieving specific, yet undefined, key milestones.

The customer figures cited were compiled from older Acumatica blog posts, some of which are no longer accessible. A key ambiguity remains: whether these totals encompass customers from any or all of the previously discussed white-label versions of the Acumatica platform. This was specifically addressed during Acumatica Summit 2026, where CEO John Case stated that the current 10,000+ customer count does not include white-labeled users.
