UK’s Largest Sage Partner Sold to Pine Services Group After Founder’s 45-Year Run

Datel may not be a familiar name to US Sage users, but it’s a big one in the UK: the largest Sage business partner there, working across Sage X3, Sage Intacct, and Sage 200. The company has now been acquired by Pine Services Group (part of Evergreen), closing out founder Alan Simpson’s 45-year run as he steps into retirement following the deal.

Stuart Morland remains Datel Group CEO and led the sale process alongside Emma Pownall, with Alvarez and Marsal advising. The company says its relationship with Sage and its day-to-day focus on customers stays unchanged, a point echoed by Sage’s own CCO Derk Bleeker in a supportive quote. For US readers watching ERP channel consolidation, it’s another sign: PE-backed roll-ups keep picking up ever larger and more established Sage partners, this time on the other side of the Atlantic.
