Acumatica has opened a Global Capability Center in Hyderabad, India, adding more than 30 engineers with plans to grow the site further. The new location joins existing operations in the US, Canada, Serbia, and Sri Lanka and was built in partnership with Summit Consulting Services, an ANSR company that specializes in standing up and scaling GCCs.
Chief Engineering Officer Miten Mehta framed the move as a long-term bet on India’s engineering talent pool, calling the center the “core of our growth engine” for the company. The site starts with an engineering focus but leaves room to expand into other functions as it matures.
Why It Matters for the ERP Market
The timing is notable. Acumatica closed its acquisition of fuel and energy distribution ISV Vertrax less than a month before this announcement, and the Hyderabad buildout reads as the next piece of a broader push to scale engineering capacity and out-develop rivals.
For ISVs building on Acumatica’s platform, a larger, dedicated engineering bench could translate into faster API updates, quicker bug fixes, and more responsive platform investment, all of which reduce the integration risk that vendors weigh when choosing which ERP ecosystem to build against. If Acumatica can point to Hyderabad as evidence of sustained R&D investment, it strengthens its pitch to ISVs currently weighing Acumatica against NetSuite’s or Dynamics’ more mature partner ecosystems.
The move also fits a pattern among growth-stage ERP vendors: build global engineering capacity now to support the product roadmap that will differentiate them as the mid-market cloud ERP category matures and consolidates.
