AP Automation Gets Crowded at the Top

Acumatica’s back-to-back partnership announcements from AvidXchange and BILL caught some of our team off guard this week — and that confusion is worth noting, because your customers will feel it too.

Both partnerships deliver embedded AP automation directly within Acumatica, functioning much like the platform’s native credit card processing: seamless on the surface, with the complexity abstracted away. That’s genuinely useful. But when two direct competitors announce nearly identical integrations in quick succession, the natural question is: what’s the difference, and which one do I choose?

The honest answer is that the distinction isn’t obvious from the announcements alone,  and that’s actually where partners earn their value. New customers navigating these options need someone who understands the nuances, the fit criteria, and the real-world trade-offs. That’s not something a marketplace listing does well.

The takeaway: When vendor announcements create noise, partners create clarity. If you haven’t already formed a point of view on AP Automation solutions for your customers, now’s the time.
