Vaibhav Vohra Named New CEO of Epicor

Epicor announced that Vaibhav Vohra will become CEO effective October 1, 2026, succeeding Steve Murphy, who will step down as CEO and join the company’s Board of Directors. Vohra joined Epicor in 2021 as Chief Product Officer and was named President in October 2024. The company described the change as a planned succession and said Murphy and Vohra will work together through the end of Epicor’s fiscal year on September 30. Epicor also reported that it recently surpassed $1 billion in annual recurring revenue.

The transition has some similarities to Acumatica’s 2022 leadership change, when longtime CEO Jon Roskill stepped aside and moved into a senior advisory role with then-owner EQT, where he worked with Acumatica and other EQT portfolio companies. Epicor’s succession has had a longer runway, with Vohra serving as President since 2024 and Murphy remaining on the board. In both cases, longtime CEOs stepped away from day-to-day leadership while their companies were growing, rather than amid a publicly disclosed operational or financial problem. Roskill’s subsequent work with EQT also makes Murphy’s eventual next move worth watching.

We had the pleasure of interviewing Steve for Enterprise Software Podcast Episode 148 back in 2022. We thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. We wish him all the best!
