Alta Vista Technology Welcomes Carmen Leyton as CEO

Alta Vista Technology, a prominent Sage and Microsoft ERP consulting firm, announced today the appointment of Carmen Leyton as its new Chief Executive Officer. The leadership transition comes on the heels of the firm’s 2022 acquisition by Pine Services Group, a move driven by Alta Vista’s strategy to maintain its operational autonomy amid ongoing industry consolidation.

The Strategic Pivot Away from CPA Consolidation

In recent years, the ERP consulting space has seen a wave of consolidation, with independent software vendors frequently being absorbed by large CPA and accounting conglomerates. According to company insiders, Alta Vista’s leadership actively sought out a partnership with Pine Services Group to intentionally avoid this outcome. Having watched a key competitor lose its distinct operational identity and culture following an acquisition by a traditional CPA firm, Alta Vista prioritized finding a buyer that supported an independent operational model.

Pine Services Group, a holding company under Evergreen Services Group, fit this criteria. Pine operates on a decentralized model, acquiring technology-enabled services businesses while allowing current leadership to guide day-to-day operations and preserve their established legacy.

Leyton Takes the Helm

Leyton steps into the chief executive role with a background in digital scaling, partner development, and performance marketing. She most recently served as Chief Revenue Officer at ConsumerAffairs, where she scaled the two-sided marketplace’s acquisition engine and oversaw partnerships, sales, and long-term customer growth. Prior to that, she built her foundation in data-driven growth strategy at Red Ventures.

“I am incredibly excited and honored to lead Alta Vista into its next phase of growth,” Leyton stated. “This is a company with an outstanding reputation as a trusted leader, with deep respect from both clients and software partners. I’m excited to work alongside this talented team to continue delivering exceptional outcomes for our clients while unlocking growth.”

Leadership Transition and Market Outlook

Leyton succeeds outgoing CEO Scott Jackson, who built Alta Vista into an award-winning value-added reseller serving a diverse clientele across the construction, professional services, nonprofit, and manufacturing sectors. Jackson is not completely exiting the company; rather, he is transitioning to the role of Chairman, where he will continue to provide strategic guidance.

Jana Schmidt, CEO of Pine Services Group, emphasized the importance of Jackson’s foundational work and the strategic timing of Leyton’s appointment. “Scott Jackson built something genuinely special at Alta Vista – a strong team culture, deep client trust, and a reputation that precedes itself across the Sage and Microsoft ecosystems,” Schmidt said. “Carmen’s track record of scaling partnerships and driving growth makes her exactly the right person to lead Alta Vista into its next chapter.”

Backed by Pine Services Group’s financial resources and strategic support, and shielded from the traditional CPA firm rollup model, Alta Vista Technology is now positioned to aggressively invest in top talent and expand its technical capabilities within the competitive ERP landscape.
