Acumatica has appointed Jon Pollock as its new Chief Product Officer, effective January 12, 2026. Pollock joins from Procare Solutions and brings prior senior leadership experience from Worldpay, Dell, and Intel. While the press release positions Pollock to lead the company’s “next phase of innovation,” the more notable story is the departure of Ali Jani, who has been synonymous with Acumatica’s product vision since its early days. Over his 16-year tenure, Jani played a defining role in shaping Acumatica from a startup into a midmarket ERP platform with industry-specific editions and a reputation for listening to its channel and users.
Jani was not only the first to hold the Chief Product Officer title at Acumatica, he effectively created the role and discipline from scratch. His influence ran deep: from building native commerce integrations to formalizing Acumatica’s vertical strategies across construction, manufacturing, and distribution. Jani’s product leadership consistently emphasized function over flash. His concept of “Pragmatic AI” resisted trends and instead delivered real-world tools like AP automation and support ticket summarization – features that enhanced usability rather than chased headlines. He also pioneered the “Always Current” upgrade promise, pushing Acumatica’s platform to enable seamless updates even for heavily customized environments.
Pollock inherits a product stack that’s mature and respected, not a turnaround case. His background in payments and embedded finance suggests future product strategy could lean into transaction-based monetization, especially given Acumatica Payments’ recent emergence. But it’s hard to overstate the significance of Jani’s departure. For over a decade, he was the connection between engineering and the shipping product, trusted by partners and end-users alike.
