APEX Explained: Acumatica’s Play for the Sub-50 Employee Market

Acumatica just took APEX for Distribution and APEX for Manufacturing out of testing and made these stripped down versions of Acumatica generally available to the SMB market. These are direct-sales offerings targeting businesses with up to 50 employees.

APEX bundles subscription, implementation, and support into a single monthly fee. The feature set is Acumatica although intentionally constrained: single warehouse, BOMs limited to two levels, and one shipping carrier integration. MRP is only available in higher-tier packages.

Implementations appear to be handled by a team acquired from a former VAR. Acumatica has also published self-service pricing calculators, signaling a low-touch sales model for this segment.
