Ali Jani Resurfaces at Omnicoda, an AI Layer for Multichannel Sellers

ICYMI:

  • Un-retiring with a New Venture: After 16 years building Acumatica, former CPO Ali Jani has launched Omnicoda, an AI-native front-office platform designed to speed up operations for online sellers.
  • Streamlining the ERP Experience: Rather than replacing existing ERPs, Omnicoda automates catalog, inventory, and profitability workflows using AI assistants instead of complex multi-step screen flows.
  • Built-In Advantage and Market Test: Already processing real transactions with paying customers ahead of its fall early access rollout, Omnicoda leverages Jani’s deep channel credibility, though it faces the challenge of sharing budget space with traditional systems of record.

Ali Jani spent sixteen years at Acumatica, the last eight as chief product officer, joining in 2010 when the product was barely a product. He stepped down in April 2026, and the exit got read in parts of the channel as a retirement. Anyone who talked with him at the Acumatica conference this year came away unconvinced, and no plan had surfaced since. Now it has. Jani has founded Omnicoda, an AI native operations platform for online sellers, and says it is already live with paying customers and real transaction volume. A small private early access group opens this fall.

Omnicoda is not another ERP. Jani calls it the bolts that hold one together: catalog, orders, inventory, shipping, returns and after fee profitability across every sales channel, run through AI assistants instead of an eleven step screen flow. For sellers already on Acumatica or a comparable system, it would seem to be a front office layer meant to give back the speed the ERP takes away. For sellers not yet on one, think of it as automation now and an easier ERP conversation later, which reads as a lead source rather than a threat for VARs serving commerce clients. The part that may matter most is the credibility. Jani is well regarded across the Acumatica partner base, which hands Omnicoda distribution most first year software companies have to buy. It also means the first real test is not the technology. It is whether a front office layer sitting this close to the system of record stays complementary once both are selling into the same budget.
