Workforce Go’s Chris Goheen “Graduates” to New Role as Chief Innovation Officer

A familiar face in the Sage and Acumatica ecosystem moves up – and a new era begins at Workforce Go.

If you’re in the Sage or Acumatica world and don’t live under a rock, you’ve no doubt heard of Workforce Go, a cloud-based human capital management platform that integrates payroll, time tracking, HR, and talent management tools so organizations can manage workforce data and related processes in one system.

We’ve had a front-row seat to watching them grow over the past 10 years, and Chris Goheen has been instrumental in their ascent to a top provider of HCM solutions for the mid-market. After 10 years in Sales at Sage, Goheen joined Sage VAR MicroAccounting in 2016 and, within a year, transitioned to President of the fledgling Workforce Go, which was jointly managed by MicroAccounting.

From handing out cash while wearing a “money suit” at conferences to getting a pie in the face to raise money for St Jude’s, during Sage Partner Summit, Chris has essentially been the face of Workforce Go.

This week, Chris announced on LinkedIn that he has “graduated” within the AE Perkins family of companies, which includes Workforce Go, Ameriflex, and Accresa, and will now serve as Chief Innovation Officer for the network of portfolio companies. In this role he will be “dedicated to identifying, launching, and scaling new ventures across the AEP portfolio.”

AE Perkins also announced the promotion of long-time Ameriflex team member (and most recently Ameriflex President) Rashmi Daryman to President at AE Perkins.

Workforce Go has been on our minds recently because of Sage’s April 2026 announcement of the launch of Sage HCM, which follows Sage’s acquisition of competitor Criterion HCM in 2025. While the devil is always in the details, this does appear to be a Sage-owned competitor for Workforce Go. Workforce Go is listed as a sponsor for next week’s Sage Future conference, so we’re guessing there will be some good conversations at their booth about what makes them different from the Sage offering!
