Sage today announced the launch of Sage Supply Chain Intelligence, a new cloud-native platform designed to transform how small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), particularly product-based consumer brands, manage supply chain execution. This solution brings real-time visibility and control to the crucial “first mile” of the supply chain, aiming to help operating teams reduce delays by 35%, protect margins, and scale faster without needing to overhaul their existing systems. Rodney Manzo, Senior Director of Global Operations at Sage, stated that the platform fills a critical gap between purchase order and warehouse delivery, providing clarity without disrupting current systems.
The foundation of Sage Supply Chain Intelligence lies in Sage’s acquisition of Anvyl in 2024. Since the acquisition, Sage has rebranded and expanded Anvyl’s end-to-end supply chain software, incorporating it into Sage’s offerings to deliver a cost-effective Supply Chain Execution (SCE) solution. Sage acquired Anvyl as it was a technology firm focused on the high-growth supply chain software sector, recognizing the Anvyl team’s deep expertise.
The Sage Supply Chain Intelligence solution, previously known as Anvyl, offers intelligent purchase order (PO) management and connects global supply chain teams, systems, and suppliers to improve collaboration and decision-making. It manages the entire process from pre-PO issuance through to warehouse delivery. Key capabilities highlighted include:
- Intelligent PO Management: Managing the complete supply chain process from pre-PO to warehouse delivery in one tool, centralizing PO information and documentation.
- Real-Time Visibility: Providing real-time tracking and predictive analytics. It allows tracking shipments from any supplier and visualizing incoming shipments in a single view. This transparency helps identify and address bottlenecks. It offers on-demand access to team collaboration efforts and allows tracking PO status.
- Automation: Automating routine tasks like check-ins, escalations, and reminders to improve efficiency. Task automation frees up time and enhances resource allocation.
- Project Collaboration: Centralizing communication, files, and tasks related to new production introductions. It serves as a central hub for documents such as packing lists, bills of lading, invoices, quality checks, and artwork. Task management allows assigning tasks with due dates and reminders. Standard operating procedures can be automated.
- Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Providing tools to measure supplier performance over time, including supplier scorecards based on KPIs like responsiveness and on-time delivery rates. It aims to build relationships and ensure effective communication. Automated milestones and email check-ins with suppliers are possible.
- Financial Management: Helping match POs and invoices and alerting to discrepancies. It offers payment tracking and 3-way matching using AI to scan invoices and extract details.
- Reporting and Analytics: Creating dynamic reports for Finance, Planning, Product Development, and Logistics teams. Custom dashboards with personalized to-do lists, drag-and-drop widgets for order status, and Quickfilters for report views are available.
Sage Supply Chain Intelligence is designed to be seamlessly embedded into a business’ ecosystem. It is delivered through Sage Network, Sage’s platform that connects business ecosystems. The solution features an integration with Sage 100, 300 and X3.
For existing Sage users, Sage Supply Chain Intelligence offers value by focussing on the “first mile” of the supply chain, providing visibility and control from pre-purchase order to warehouse delivery, a gap that can lead to delays and inefficiencies when relying solely on manual processes or core ERP functions. Anvyl research indicates that many brands still rely on manual processes and outdated systems, struggling with poor data quality, inefficient reporting, and a lack of integration between core supply chain platforms. This new solution directly addresses these issues.
