Sage Announces Leadership Changes in UKIA Region

Sage has announced that Pieter Bensch has been appointed Executive Vice President (EVP) for the UKIA region (UK, Ireland, Africa) and Managing Director (MD) for UKI. Pieter has led Sage’s Africa and Middle East (AME) operations for the past seven years, where he oversaw strong growth and expanded the company’s footprint across the region.

Bensch comes from a background in computer science and initially trained as a teacher before moving into the tech industry. At Sage, he’s known for his open, consultative leadership style, focused on removing roadblocks for teams and encouraging innovation. He’s been a vocal advocate for cloud solutions, artificial intelligence, and customer-driven innovation, with a particular interest in how these technologies can help businesses scale efficiently.

With Pieter moving into his new role, Jordaan Burger will step in as interim MD for AME while Sage searches for Pieter’s successor. Jordaan has been with Sage in various leadership positions, most recently as Vice President of Product for AME.This change follows the departure of Paul Struthers, who has led the UKIA region for the past five years. Paul will be leaving Sage later this month to take on a new opportunity outside the company.
