On July 1, 2025, Intuit announced it is launching a virtual “team” of AI agents designed to automate and streamline operations for businesses. According to the company, the initiative is part of a broader strategy to evolve its products, primarily QuickBooks, from a system of record into a comprehensive business operations platform. Intuit claims that by leveraging its generative AI to automate complex tasks and provide proactive insights, these new capabilities can save businesses up to 12 hours per month.
The new offering consists of several specialized agents, each targeting a specific business function. The initial rollout includes a Payments Agent to help manage cash flow by predicting late payments and automating invoices; an Accounting Agent to handle bookkeeping tasks like transaction categorization and reconciliation; and a Finance Agent to provide reporting and KPI analysis. This launch also features a new “Customer Hub” within QuickBooks, which houses a Customer Agent designed to assist with lead sourcing and communication. Intuit also announced plans to release additional agents in the coming months, including a Marketing Agent for Mailchimp, a Payroll Agent, and a Project Management Agent.
The rollout of the new AI agents and the redesigned QuickBooks interface is scheduled to begin on July 1, 2025, for customers in the United States. The press release specifies that these features will be introduced to “a range of QuickBooks Online products.” It also notes that the new Customer Hub, which integrates the customer and sales-focused AI agents, will be included in “most QuickBooks Online plans,” though it does not detail which specific tiers will receive the features initially.
