Sage announced Sage Intacct Advisory on April, 21, 2026, an evolution of the Sage Intacct Accountants Program (SIAP). The program targets accounting firms delivering outsourced finance and Client Advisory Services (CAS). Sage will showcase the capabilities at Sage Future in San Francisco, April, 28, 2026 to April, 30, 2026.
The Three Primary Sage Intacct Channels:
Accountants are a powerful channel for Sage with many larger firms both reselling and using Sage Intacct to offer various outsourced accounting services.
- VAR channel (Business Partners / Value Added Resellers): firms like Armanino, RKL eSolutions, Cherry Bekaert, DSD, Kerr Consulting. These firms sell, implement, and support Sage Intacct. They earn margin on software sales and bill implementation and support services.
- SIAP channel (Sage Intacct Accountants Program): CPA and CAS firms that use Sage Intacct as the platform to deliver outsourced accounting, bookkeeping, and virtual CFO services to their own clients. The firm’s revenue is the service fee to the end client, not a commission on software.
- Direct channel – Sage sells directly to the client
What’s New?
The change from SIAP to Sage Intacct Advisory advances a program focused on certification to what should be a comprehensive service-delivery platform. Key enhancements include:
- AI-enabled workflows that automate routine finance tasks.
- Industry-specific templates for client onboarding and service delivery.
- Data migration tools to move new clients into a firm’s environment faster.
- Standardization layer for firms managing multiple client environments.
The release does not specify which capabilities are generally available, early access, or roadmap. Presumably this type of update will be shared at the upcoming Sage Future conference later this month.
According to the press release:
Sage Intacct Advisory is the evolution of the Sage Intacct Accountants Programme, helping accounting firms structure, deliver and scale outsourced finance and advisory services. It provides a more standardised, service-led approach, enabling firms to support multiple clients and more complex financial environments in a consistent way.
Sage Intacct Advisory is designed for accounting firms and finance partners delivering outsourced finance, Client Accounting Services (CAS), and advisory services. It is particularly relevant for firms looking to grow their advisory offerings and support clients as they scale.
What’s It Mean?
The shift from SIAP to Sage Intacct Advisory is a pivot in strategy. While SIAP existed as a program, Advisory advances the program as a service-delivery platform.
A press release a week before the Sage Future keynote likely means this will be a central focus. Expect more detail in the Tuesday keynote on April 28, 2026.
The competition is CAS firm economics. Intuit runs QuickBooks Online Accountant and ProAdvisor. Xero has its Partner Program. Both target the same firms with a playbook of practice management plus a ledger. Sage’s differentiator, as pitched, is AI workflow automation inside the ledger itself, not bolted on.
Intacct’s strongest markets are nonprofit, SaaS, and professional services. If the industry templates ship for those first, the message is “serve the verticals we already win.” If they ship broader, Sage is signaling a horizontal expansion into territory where QuickBooks currently owns small CAS practices.
CPA.com was the co-developer of the original SIAP. The press release does not mention CPA.com. That is either an oversight or possibly a signal that Sage is taking more direct ownership of the program.
Watch the Sage Future keynote for:
- Pricing, tiering, and revenue share details (if any) at Sage Future.
- Whether SIAP branding retires fully, and the timeline.
- CPA.com’s role in the new structure.
- Which industry templates ship first.
- Who is brought on stage to discuss this (and who isn’t).
