From a modest, 160-person kickoff in Anaheim during 2021, the 5th iteration of DynamicsCon hit Chicago in mid-May with nearly 2100 attendees and lots of excitement! Many of us in the Microsoft Dynamics & related biz apps space enjoyed our time in the Windy City for a few days, taking in the largest DynamicsCon event to date. Hats off to all at the Hyatt Regency Chicago for their excellent hospitality!

DynamicsCon 2025, held from May 13–16, hosted over 300 sessions across various tracks, 1,259 first time attendees, and for the very first time in the event’s 5-year history all exhibitors were together in a vast expo hall. I always enjoy the Expo area as the pulse of every event can always be found here, and foot traffic was robust each day as Expo hours were quite generous overall. Microsoft speakers, and there were plenty, focused on the advancements within Dynamics 365 products as well as Copilot (naturally).

Several areas of enhancement were around Supply Chain Management, as well as the continuing growth of AI in business applications. Copilot Agents are here to help with your day-to-day tasks as well as streamline necessary processes, so of course they were front and center most of the week as well. Any info attendees may have missed during the General Sessions could easily be located at the Microsoft booth within the Expo Hall as it was quite large, centrally located, and nicely staffed. Microsoft’s support is important to this event, and they stepped up for this community in Chicago.
Additionally, I had the privilege of moderating a panel filled with Dynamics GP end users, all of whom discussed their internal discussions related to ‘what’s next’. It was a tremendously important session, and our panelists gave out tons of information related to what their plans are (or might be). This important session will be continued in Orlando during October as well as next year at DynamicsCon, so please stay tuned for more information and a formal Meetup group!

While yours truly was hoping for slightly better attendance numbers this time around, I was still thrilled to be immersed in all the learning & networking that occurred in downtown Chicago. If you haven’t visited this part of the Windy City, make sure you do so soon as this part of America’s 3rd largest city is very walkable and has loads of superb restaurants to choose from. The famed ‘Magnificent Mile’ really is!

The DUG crew announced that the 6th annual DynamicsCon is set for Las Vegas during the same week, next May. This time it’s at the fabulous Fontainebleau Casino & Resort, on the north end of The Strip, and this property is practically brand new (having only opened in December 2023). Yours truly did a self-guided tour of the hotel & attached conference center earlier this year, and the site itself is quite impressive! To say that I’m excited about helping to welcome attendees to this amazing event site is an understatement – looking forward to seeing you then!
